This Week’s Talk

Sunday 18th January
The Project Support Group is meeting on Sunday 18th January to support members and local photographers with their projects, including personal work, RPS Distinctions, and PAGB Awards.
The meeting will run from 10:00am to approximately 3:30pm at Muscliff Community Centre. Please bring your own lunch and your work (prints or PDIs). The cost is £5, which includes tea and coffee.
You don’t need to have started a project to attend - everyone is welcome.
Tuesday 20th January
Wareham Camera Club have a Zoom talk from Sarah Howard on 20th January, which we are welcome to join. This is a link to Sarah’s website: https://www.sarahhowardphotography.com/.

Wednesday 21st January
It’s time for our New Year Meal. We have booked tables at The Pear at Parley for 5:00pm, with a 5:30pm start.

Bob has submitted our menu choices to The Pear. Please pay the cost of your meal into the club’s account using the usual payment details.
Drinks should be paid for individually on the night.
Wednesday 28th January
This week we have an Open Print Competition, judged by Alison Cawley. You can enter up to 4 prints but remember that the fourth image must be black and white.
Please upload your images to PhotoEntry by midnight on Sunday 25th January.
SCPF Exhibition
The SCPF Exhibition in the Young Gallery, Salisbury Library, is now open and runs until 31st January. It is well worth a visit.

It is an enjoyable experience. You get to see the exhibition and talk to members of the public and to people from other camera clubs.
Carol, Norman and Russ visited the exhibition on Saturday, for the awards event. The club received Highly Commended for our print panel. Norman received our certificate from Stewart Lacey, the SCPF President.


SCPF Leagues
On 7th January, Gosport CC hosted the 2nd Round of the SCPF Print League, judged by Paul Bradley. We came second, 1 point behind Bognor Regis CC. The following images were held back:

The Tyre Fitter by Dave Peckham, scoring 9
Taj Photographer by Norman Wiles, scoring 9
Havant CC hosted the 3rd Round of the SCPF Digital Image League on 13th January, judged by Caroline Preece. We came first in this round, by half a point to Aldershot, Farnham & Fleet CC. The following images were held back:

Mums Taxi by Nick Leonard, scoring 10.0
Still Spitting Fire by Bob Palmer, scoring 9.5
